Pane Ora

Jed, Samu & Pietro

Pane Ora is the creation of three friends - two surfers and a skater, who found their rhythm between the bakery and the ocean. As chefs and bakers, we rise early to craft bread that nourishes, before diving into the waves as the sun comes up.

Our love for the Moana and Whenua of Aotearoa inspires everything we do. We see first hand the impact humans have on our natural world, and we choose to be part of the solution. Through our bread, we bring together our passion for food, sustainability, and community — baking loaves that are kind to both people and the planet..

I have been gluten free for fifteen years and I have finally found the perfect gluten free bread and pastries; They are the most delicious GF breads I've ever eaten and I've tried them all. It's obvious that the breads are hand crafted with passion and not full of all the nasties of supermarket product . The kids love them too

Pane Ora craft a range of delicious breads with the vibrance of Turmeric, the heartiness of hemp, the tang of sourdough or the gentle warm crunch of brioche, these gluten free plant-powered breads surpass dreams. Striking a delectable balance between soft fluffiness with some density, while toasting up a beautiful golden crunch, all that while holding their form, perfect with soup,  sandwiches, crostini or simply with sea  salt and olive oil.

This bread, in my opinion, is the best bread in it's category on the market today! I love Italian bread, but because of health reasons I am no longer able to eat it.  Gluten free sourdogh bread, when toasted, comes pretty close to crusty Italian bread. The hemp loaf is feels so healthy in my tummy. I make a very good bruschetta with it!.

It's the only organic bread which doesn't use any plastic packaging... Also, it is a little expensive but i guess the flours would be very expensive too and i personally love to invest in my own health...Love the bread!

Why Choose Us?

Kia ora koutou,

Our bakery is called Pane Ora, a name that combines the Italian word Pane (bread) with the Te Reo Māori word Ora (good health).

Together, it means Bread for GoodHealth.

We believe in baking bread that nourishes people while caring for the land. That’s why we choose 100% organic or spray-free flours that support better farming practices, like hemp and buckwheat.

Buckwheat is are remarkable crop: when planted, it helps release phosphorus bound in the soil and attracts beneficial insects, including bees, which are vital for pollination. For those with sensitivities to wheat and gluten, buckwheat offers a naturally gluten-free alternative that can be used in everyday cooking.

Hemp, too, is a plant we love to work with. Naturally resistant to many pests and diseases, it requires little intervention and actively absorbs nitrogen, helping to protect and restore waterways. As a food, it’s rich in protein, fibre, and essential fatty acids, making it a true ingredient for both health and sustainability.

Alongside these, we use nutrient-dense ingredients such as chia, flaxseed, psyllium husk, brown rice flour, and tapioca to give our loaves both depth of flavour and strong nutritional value.

At Pane Ora, health should never mean compromise. Our bread is wholesome, planet-friendly, and most importantly — delicious! We want people to choose our bread not only because it’s good for them and good for the environment, but because it tastes amazing.

Our approach is holistic, through food we can create positive change for present and future generations. We see ourselves as kaitiaki — guardians of the whenua and moana —and we invite you to join us in shaping a more sustainable future.

Thank you for choosing Pane Ora, and for giving your body the nourishment it deserves.

Ngā mihi nui,

Pietro, Jed & Samu
